First thing , Kalank teaser is stunning like a Raja Ravi Verma painting, like a Sanjay Leela Bhansali essay, like a dream. Kalank teaser can also be a tease. There’s a city ready to burn and it does — maybe a reference to this film’s setting, 1940s India.
Kalank teaser additionally has Madhuri Dixit’s courtesan, Sonakshi Sinha’s Satya and Sanjay Dutt’s Balraj — all looking concerned. And then there are the gorgeous shots that have Alia on a languorous boat ride, Varun in a bull fight and the Far Eastern icons which are scattered all around.
Karan Johar’s Kalank is supposed to bring the multi-starrers back. With an epic star cast of Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt, this time narrative place in the 1940s India has definitely got the mood .
Kalank is ready to hit the screens in a month’s time, but not many understand the period drama was the brain child of late Yash Johar. 15 decades back, Kalank was set to be helmed by Karan Johar’s daddy, and had gone into pre-production stage. But the film was shelved.
